Free and Pro

The two plans

Free costs nothing. Pro is £8 a month, or £72 a year (save £24, 25%), including any taxes. The prices are also on the Free and Pro page. You can see and manage your plan on the Plan page when you are signed in.

What each includes

• Editor, rulebook, word tools, clues, clue database, player, share and short links, cloud sync. Free: Yes. Pro: Yes.
• Grid generator. Free: 10 generations a day, then a reminder. Pro: Unlimited.
• Autofill. Free: Fill the rest with the default lists and settings. Pro: Guided fill, theme words, locks, words to avoid, rare words and every option.
• Publishing. Free: Public puzzles in numbered series. Pro: Also private, unlisted, scheduled and prize puzzles.
• Print and PDF. Free: Yes, with a small “Made with Crossmith” line. Pro: Editor-ready and review layouts, no branding line.
• .ipuz, .puz, Crossword Compiler XML, .jpz and Word export; .ipuz and XML import; batch export and packs. Free: No. Pro: Yes.
• Embeds. Free: With a “Made with Crossmith” link. Pro: Unbranded.
• Your own word lists and word scores. Free: No. Pro: Yes.
• Barred grids. Free: Open and edit ones you have. Pro: Make new barred puzzles.
• AI clue suggestions and theme lists. Free: 20 answers a month. Pro: 300 answers a month.

What never stops

Solvers never need an account or a plan. Setting tools have no adverts on either plan. Nothing you have made is ever locked away: on Free, or if Pro ends, every puzzle you made still opens, edits, prints and syncs, including barred puzzles, and the library backup is always free.
